The Four Horsemen Approach - Famine is in the Air
I have been sounding the call for your total commitment and preparation as one crises leads to another. I have laid out before you the need to store food, water, natural medicines, weapons, rugged winter clothing, extra tools and hardware. I have suggested geographical locations and travel routes to many of you who just couldn’t quite figure it out. Further, I have warned you of shortages of fuels, bulk foods and ammunition. The message has been loud and clear. I know also that it has been easier to shove all this aside and get on with other, simpler things. Simple times are over.......

Al Gore Calls Myanmar Cyclone a 'Consequence' of Global Warming Using tragedy to advance an agenda has been a strategy for many global warming activists, and it was just a matter of time before someone found a way to tie the recent Myanmar cyclone to global warming. Former Vice President Al Gore in an interview on NPR’s May 6 “Fresh Air” broadcast did just that. He was interviewed by “Fresh Air” host Terry Gross about the release of his book, “The Assault on Reason,” in paperback. “And as we’re talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated,” Gore said. “And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China – and we’re seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.” Gore claimed global warming is forcing ocean temperatures to rise, which is causing storms, including cyclones and hurricanes, to intensify....

Subsea storage may fix our CO2 problem
Researchers are looking beneath the world's deep, cold waters for places to put the greenhouse gases that may be warming its atmosphere. A growing body of research predicts deep subsea rock formations may be ideal for carbon sequestration — the process of storing carbon dioxide emissions underground to keep them from entering the Earth's atmosphere and contributing to climate change. A number of researchers already are conducting projects to inject CO2 in onshore formations to see if large amounts of the greenhouse gas can be stored underground indefinitely. Daniel Schrag, a professor at Harvard University's Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, says the high pressures and low temperatures found below the sea floor — 10,000 feet or more underwater — provide a nearly foolproof way to keep CO2 stored. In those conditions CO2 becomes a liquid more dense than water that will not rise up to the ocean floor....

Reservoir larger than Manhattan planned to help Everglades
Around South Florida's vast sugar cane fields, where turtles grow to the size of basketballs and alligators own the marsh, the silence of the swamp is broken by the sound of rumbling trucks and explosions. The earth-moving equipment and high explosives are laying the foundation for a mammoth construction project: a reservoir bigger than Manhattan designed to revive the ecosystem of the once-famed River of Grass. More than a century after the first homes and farms took shape in the Everglades, decades of flood-control projects have left the region parched and near ecological collapse. Now crews are building what will be the world's largest aboveground manmade reservoir to restore some natural water flow to the wetlands. The reservoir, estimated to cost up to $800 million, is the largest and most expensive part of a sweeping state and federal restoration effort. Most man-made reservoirs are built in canyons or valleys and use a natural water source such as a river to fill in behind a dam. This one will stand on its own, contained within earth-and-concrete walls much like an aboveground swimming pool larger than many cities. Planners hope to eventually double its size....

Report: World Sea Ice reaches 'unprecedented' 25 year high in April! (By Climate data analyst Stephen McIntyre of ClimateAudit.org, one of the individuals responsible for debunking the infamous "Hockey Stick" temperature graph)

Excerpt: On a global basis, world sea ice in April 2008 reached levels that were “unprecedented” for the month of April in over 25 years. Levels are the third highest (for April) since the commencement of records in 1979, exceeded only by levels in 1979 and 1982. This continues a pattern established earlier in 2008, as global sea ice in March 2008 was also the third highest March on record, while January 2008 sea ice was the second highest January on record. It was also the second highest single month in the past 20 years (second only to Sept 1996).[…]  Four of the past 5 months are “all-time” records for Southern Hemisphere sea ice anomalies, “unprecedented” since the data set began in 1979 as shown below: (See weblink for graphs)

"Contrary to the common wisdom, there is no positive H2O-temperature feedback on global scale: in Earth-type atmospheres uncontrolled runaway warming is not possible. Meteorologist Takes Down Newsweek’s Sharon Begley for more Shoddy Climate Reporting (By Chief Meteorologist Craig James, of a Michigan NBC TV affiliate)

[Note: For a complete report on Begley’s embarrassing climate reporting see here: ]

Excerpt: In the May 5, 2008 edition of Newsweek, there is an article by science writer Sharon Begley trying to convince us that “global warming isn’t good for crops after all”. Her first example is that a glacier in the Himalayas called the Gangotri glacier. She writes that over the last 25 years the glacier has shrunk about half a mile, “a rate three times the historical norm”. The implication is, of course, that this was caused by increasing atmospheric CO2 produced by human activities. Since this glacier supplies 70% of the flow to India’s Ganges River during the dry season, loss of the glacier would cause great harm to India’s crop irrigation. However, this article in the Times of India, contains the following quote: According to Geological Survey of India data, between 1935 and 1996, Gangotri glacier receded at an average 18.80 metres per year. Studies by other institutions show that yearly recession dropped to 17.5 metres during 1971-2004 and further to 12.10 metres in 2004-05. The river flow may be falling and the glacier retreating, but is it really three times the historical norm? The Indian government calls it a “natural phenomena” that may have been exacerbated by the building of four dams. […] Her next example is that of a diminishing snowpack in the United States, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. Was she out of the country this winter? Take a look at these snow depth comparisons from the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center in Seattle, Washington. You can see that this year’s snow pack in the Northwest was between 133% and 330% above normal. In many locations in the central Rockies, the midwest and northern New England, the highest snowfall amounts of any year were recorded. Of course, one year does not make a trend, but since the Pacific Decadal Oscillation has gone negative, this may indeed be the beginning of a trend.

Surge in fatal shark attacks blamed on global warming

See: Oceans Cooling! Scientists puzzled by “mystery of global warming's missing heat” (March 19, 2008 – NPR)

Excerpt: Some 3,000 scientific robots that are plying the ocean have sent home a puzzling message. These diving instruments suggest that the oceans have not warmed up at all over the past four or five years. That could mean global warming has taken a breather.  […] The buoys can dive 3,000 feet down and measure ocean temperature. Since the system was fully deployed in 2003, it has recorded no warming of the global oceans. "There has been a very slight cooling, but not anything really significant," [Josh] Josh Willis (of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory) says.

Global Warming? Northeast ski resorts report 'best snowfall levels in recorded history'

Excerpt: Waterville Valley in New Hampshire had a top-five year in terms of snow accumulation, with 192 inches having fallen to the slopes so far, the mountain's director of marketing, Deborah Moore, said. A recent snowstorm on Mt. Mansfield, the home of Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont, boosted the season snow total to 367 inches, making this ski season the snowiest in the last 10 years. "We're still expecting at least one more dump of snow," the communications director at Stowe, Jeff Wise, said. or those who reject the popular consensus that the world is on the brink of a global warming crisis, the mass snowfall provides a form of validation." he reports of global warming have been extremely overblown. It shouldn't be any surprise that we're going to have years with temperatures lower than average and snowfall higher than average," a senior fellow for environmental policy at the Heartland Institute, James Taylor, said.

Middle school kids fear global warming - NY Times

Excerpt: DANNY WEINGART said he recently spent a week standing outside his middle school with a sign encouraging classmates to ride the bus because of his concerns about global warming. If the more dire predictions come true, he worries that his favorite cities could flood. "Personally, I don't enjoy swimming everywhere," Danny, who is 11, said jokingly as he and more than 20 other sixth graders at Seven Bridges Middle School met in a technology classroom at lunchtime to discuss a weekend trash cleanup project. Danny belongs to a school club called Kids Against Pollution, which conducted a weeklong protest leading up to Earth Day. Its goal was to reduce the number of cars dropping off students at the school in Chappaqua, a village of fewer than 10,000 with a median household income of more than $163,000. Most members said they were worried about global warming. Aaron Kohn, 11, said that he had watched the movie "Waterworld," about a future in which the polar ice caps have melted and most of the planet is underwater, and then researched on the Internet reasons the earth could flood. When he read about global warming, Aaron said, he got scared. Sarah Jane Weil, 11, said she is an animal lover and was upset by predictions that in her lifetime polar bears might become extinct as a result of global warming. Olivia Sacker, 11, said she used to want to be a veterinarian when she grows up but now wants to be an environmentalist because she is worried about the health of the planet.

Global warming blamed for freezing temps that decimated Afghanistan's opium harvest

Excerpt: Scientists believe freezing temperatures followed by late rains and a possible drought could slash this year's yields. Some farmers could ADVERTISEMENTsuffer up to 50 per cent losses. The fierce cold – which claimed hundreds of lives across Afghanistan – is thought to have stopped millions of poppy seeds from germinating, while late rains and a meagre snow melt following an unusually low snowfall have stunted many of the plants that survived. One expert said: "It was too cold in some areas for the seeds to come alive. Between 30 per cent and 50 per cent of the seeds may not have germinated." Survey teams are scouring the country's poppy fields to get precise data on this season's plants. Privately, UN officials and European diplomats both predict a drop in yields.

Scientist Who voted for Gore in 2000 Now Debunks Warming Fears

Dr. Don J. Easterbrook, Professor Emeritus Geology, Western Washington University, author of 8 books, 150 journal publications with focus on geomorphology; glacial geology; Pleistocene geochronology; environmental and engineering geology.

Excerpt: For a number of interviews, especially in the national news media, they ask ‘Are you a Republican?’ and I say ‘No, I’m not, as a matter of fact, I voted for Al Gore. […] We’ve been warming up about a degree per century since the Little Ice Age in about 1600. We’ve been warming for 400 years, long before human–generated CO2 could have anything to do with the climate. If we project the previous century into the coming one, my projection is that we will have about a half-a-degree of cooling from 2007 (plus or minus three to five years) to about 2040. Then it will start getting warmer as we enter the next warm cycle, followed by cooling again. […]For a number of interviews, especially in the national news media, they ask ‘Are you a Republican?’ and I say ‘No, I’m not, as a matter of fact, I voted for Al Gore. I don’t want to pick on him because he’s not a scientist.’ The nonsense he spews comes from the IPCC [United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change], so in a sense I don’t condemn him as much as I do the so-called climatologists like [James] Hansen, who says things that are idiotic. They’re the ones giving him all this stuff. […] Al Gore makes a hundred-million dollars? He has five-billion in his slush fund? Look at [U.S. Senator] Barbara Boxer, she sponsored a bill for carbon cap and trade [Sanders/Boxer Global Warming Bill S.309]. Who will benefit from hundreds of billions of dollars for administering a scheme like that? The other thing is research funding. The U.S. spends about two-billion dollars a year on research. Right now, if you submit anything that says CO2 is not the bad guy, you won’t have a chance of getting funding. It all goes to the CO2 people who build little fiefdoms; they have grant money coming out of their ears. They mimic Al Gore and say the debate is over. The last I heard, the U.S. plans to increase its research spending to 3.5 billion dollars, virtually all of which goes into CO2 research. […] Gore made a statement that less than a half-dozen people in world don’t believe that CO2 causes AGW. That’s totally nuts.

UK Scientist Declares Global Warming Movement ‘Unraveling’ – Compares Climate Fear Campaign to Nostradamus! – May 2, 2008 (By UK Professor Emeritus of Biogeography Philip Stott of the University of London)

Excerpt: “It’s All Unraveling” – Oh dear! The inevitable is happening. The ‘global warming’ trope is unravelling on a daily basis - scientifically, economically, and politically. The wheels are coming off the hysterical bandwagon, and it is not going to be a salutary sight watching the politicians and the media junkies jumping cart and trying to throw mud in everyone’s eyes. Pathetic Sophistry - First, climate - as long predicted here - just won’t play ball. We now know that there has been no ‘global warming’ since 1998, a fact unpredicted by the models and despite an above-average rise in ‘greenhouse’ gas emissions. […]  It is pathetic sophistry to claim, as some are wont, that ‘natural forces’ are having the temerity to “suppress” ‘global warming’. The fundamental point has ever been this: climate change is governed by hundreds of factors. The very idea that we can manage climate change predictably by understanding and manipulating at the margins just one politically-selected factor is about as bonkers as it gets. How on Earth have folk been conned into believing such hubris? It is so like The Prophecies by Nostradamus [above] - the vagueness and lack of dating make it easy to quote ‘evidence’ selectively after every major dramatic event, and retrospectively claim them as a ‘hit’! […]‘Global warming’! I believe it is, at last, unraveling, folks. As a Sun reader penned on May 1: “‘Global warming may “stop”, scientists predict.’ Now if that’s true, how can we tax it?”

South African Scientist: ‘From now onwards climate alarmists will be on the retreat’ – May 3, 2008 - (By Professor Dr. Will J.R. Alexander, Emeritus of the Department of Civil and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and a former member of the United Nations Scientific and Technical Committee on Natural Disasters)

Excerpt: From now onwards climate alarmists will be on the retreat. […] Please appreciate the gravity of the following material. If the global climate has ceased warming, this completely undermines the whole climate change issue and confirms our studies. Compare the prediction in Nature that warming will cease from now until 2015 with our prediction model below from my general interest article in press. […] All indications are that we are now on the threshold of global cooling associated with the second and less active solar cycle. Severe drought sequences will almost certainly be one of the consequences. The paper in Nature confirms the global applicability of our studies. More work will have to be done on an examination of concurrent historical global droughts. Suggestions would be welcome. It will be very interesting to see the international responses to the latest developments at the next UNFCCC meeting in Bonn, and the G8 meeting in Japan next month, now that it has become obvious that there is no linkage between the discharge of these gases into the atmosphere and global warming with all its postulated consequences. […] This whole climate change issue is rapidly disintegrating. It is not pleasant to watch as the consequences could be grave. The unjustified switch to biofuels lies at the centre of its collapse. It is also coincident with the looming economic recession. There are other consequences. Food prices are rising.

UN IPCC Scientist Counters UN Science! (By IPCC reviewer and chemist Dr. Vincent Gray of New Zealand, an expert reviewer on every single draft of the IPCC reports going back to 1990 and author of The Greenhouse Delusion: A Critique of "Climate Change 2001. )

Excerpt: This paper examines the evidence in detail and shows that none of the evidence presented confirms a relationship between emissions of greenhouse gases and any harmful effect on the climate. […] It is impossible to measure the average surface temperature of the earth, yet the IPCC scientists try to claim that it is possible to measure “anomalies” of this unknown quantity. An assessment of all the temperature data available, largely ignored by the IPCC, shows no evidence for overall warming, but the existence of cyclic behavior. Recent warming was last recorded around 1950.An absence of warming for 10 years and a current downturn suggest that the cool part of the cycle is imminent. […] Humans affect climate by changes in urban development and land use, but there is no evidence that greenhouse gas emissions are involved, except in enhancing plant growth. […] No computer climate model has ever satisfactorily predicted any future climate sequence, so none are suitable for forecasting. This is even admitted by the IPCC, so they assess the value of their “projections” entirely from the opinions of those paid to develop them. With such a conflict of interest, these assessments are worthless and should be ignored. There are no plausible scientific arguments currently available which support the view that human greenhouse gas emissions are having a detectable influence on the climate.

Weather Channel Founder's letter to environmentalists: Global warming 'science is not valid' (By Meteorologist John Coleman, Founder of The Weather Channel and former meteorologist for ABC's Good Morning America)

Excerpt: Thank you for your dedication to protecting our environment. Clean air and clean water are essential to preserving life on planet Earth. Protecting all species and natural lands and forests are admirable priorities. Recycling and a green lifestyle are wonderful. Making the environment the most important thing in your life is a good thing, not a problem. I support you. But we do have a problem. You have vigorously embraced the Global Warming predictions of the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and are using the warning of uncontrollable warming and a resulting environmental calamity to campaign for elimination of fossil fuels. Your environmentally conscious friends in politics and in the media have united with you to create a barrage of news reports, documentaries, TV feature reports, movies, books, concerts and protest events to build support for your goals. The war against fossil fuels has become a massive scare campaign that is giving children nightmares. Here's what's wrong with that: the science is not valid. There is no Global Warming underway and the science on which the computer projections of weather chaos are based is wrong.  Dead wrong. […] The science behind your global warming scare is bad and no anthropogenic global warming is happening. Dissenting scientists have now produced convincing evidence that the cornerstone of your scientific argument, increased atmospheric carbon dioxide forcing a rapid, irreversible rise in temperature, is invalid. All of the various "signs of global warming" you have so widely publicized have been proven wrong. […] Stop screaming, "The sky is falling." It is not.

Prominent Hungarian Physicist Dr. Miklós Zágoni, who reversed view of man-made warming and is now a skeptic, Reacted to journal Nature study on ‘Global Warming will stop’

Excerpt of email by Dr. Zagoni: Dear Mr. Morano: As you surely remember, I stated at the New York Conference on Climate Change that it is the Miskolczi theory which is able to serve the proper scientific background for the lack of past, present and future anthropogenic global warming. In the meantime we continued checking the theory over and over and could not recognize any flaw in it. I have excerpts, shorter and longer written summaries and explanations too, digging into different depth of the physics behind the theory. I am ready to deliver it in detail for any expert or layman audiences, at workshops, hearings, public lectures, as far as science and not politics is concerned. Again, the original paper's link at the official web site of the Quarterly Journal of the Hungarian Meteorological Service: https://met.hu/idojaras/IDOJARAS_vol111_No1_01.pdf - I think the proper understanding of  the new theory needs some further explanation, so I try to provide it in short: "To put it in a language that IPCC will understand: Extra CO2 does not result extra 'radiative forcing' in the final account, as the energy constraint rules it back to its equilibrium value. Nature's regulatory instrument is water vapor: more carbon dioxide leads to less moisture  in the air, keeping the overall GHG content in accord with the necessary balance conditions. So, contrary to the common wisdom, there is no positive H2O-temperature feedback on global scale: in Earth-type atmospheres uncontrolled runaway warming is not possible. This new theory seems to be only a little step forward in the two-hundred years old greenhouse science, but its consequences are revolutionary: actually it stops the possibility of man-made global warming." I hope you start to feel how deep this work of Dr Miskolczi is. You may understand also why the mainstream does not want to learn it, and why I must help to distribute it in all possible ways. Canadian Climatologist Exposes UN IPCC Political Agenda (By Climatologist Dr. Timothy Ball)

Excerpt: It is urgent to understand how world leaders were so misled about CO2, global warming and climate change and to stop them before any more damage is done.  […] The climate debate was now a purely political battle. Science was increasingly and rudely pushed aside. The misdirection and machinations within the IPCC were to get worse as we will see.  Sadly, the results and their impact are already evident and going to get worse unless they are stopped

Senate Global Warming bill could harm economy

Excerpt: But Marc Morano, minority communications director for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, says the Lieberman-Warner bill would do untold damage to the country. "The U.S. unilaterally trying to reduce emissions by 2050 [or] 2070, as various bills call for, will not have any detectable impact on the climate, pure symbolism – that's point one," he debates. "Point two, now we have a host of government and private sector studies that have come out now just showing that Lieberman-Warner will raise home energy [costs]...[and] it's going to cost jobs all across the board, there is no way to slice it," warns Morano. The Energy Information Administration projects the Lieberman-Warner bill could lead to increases in Americans' average annual household energy bills of up to $325 in 2020 and $723 by 2030. Morano also warns that the bill will also create new government agencies that will handle carbon pricing or carbon cap and trade. He believes that creating this type of bureaucracy will expand the federal government to record size.

Czech scientist mocks linkage of shark attacks to global warming (By Former Harvard University Physicist Dr. Lubos Motl, a string theorist who is currently a professor at Charles University in the Czech Republic)

Excerpt: attack because of global warming New research has determined that sharks began to attack people because of global warming.  This is how the world looked like before global warming. It was a paradise. Caucasian fathers with their Asian children, tigers, birds, blonde women, and sharks were loving each other and living in peace. […] What matters is the global warming. For example, sharks in Mexico become more aggressive because of the catastrophic warming of the Antarctic Peninsula. And one cannot look at the last 10 years or the next 10 years. The important thing is the trend of the global warming. And this trend has been determined by the world's top scientists to be positive forever and it explains all bad things that have happened and that will ever happen. It has already brought early marriages to Uganda and stopped circumcisions in Kenya, among millions of other problems. Data from the thermometers therefore cannot change anything about it because data suck, after all. Data are the crap that is routinely abused by the deniers. Data must go. The next scientific research we will read about will say that September 11, 2001 attacks were caused by global warming. Do you remember how you were asking why the hell the steel in the skyscrapers was melting? Yes, melting usually occurs because of warming! That new paper will hopefully be enough for all Americans to join the bandwagon! ;-)

Global Cooling Is Coming!

Excerpt: Politics and science are at loggerheads over the question of global warming. The reality is, imminent global cooling is a greater threat to humankind!  Though arguments presently rage over the issue of climate change, only one side is getting the lion’s share of the publicity. The global warmists win hands down on that score. The realists’ argument is plainly not fashionable. It does not win votes, it does not win business and it’s certainly not appealing to the mass media! That the Earth’s climate is undergoing change is without question. As to its reasons, and its history, they are the nubs of the arguments posed by both the short-term pro-global warming pundits and those who take a longer view. Believe it or not, in the not-too-distant future, this Earth is in for a big freeze—guaranteed! But it will not be due to any of the long-term cyclical changes that periodically contribute to either a rise or fall in the Earth’s temperature. This freeze will, indeed, be brought on by the hand of man!

Olympic torch climb to Everest hit by heavy snowfall

Excerpt: snow-covered yak rests outside the Rongbo Monastery at the foot of Mount Everest, also known as Qomolangma, in the Tibet Autonomous Region yesterday. China’s bold plan to take a special Olympic torch to the top of Mount Everest faced a possible setback yesterday as snow fell on the world’s highest mountain.

Invasion of giant squid blamed on global warming - LA Times

Excerpt: That's what scientists think, according to a study published today. Ocean temps are rising and oxygen-starved waters are spreading, which means species like the Humboldt squid are showing up where they've never been before. Kenneth R. Weiss has the story.

Group warns of global warming alarmism

Excerpt: A touring political rally designed to highlight the "dangers of global warming alarmism" made a stop in downtown Oklahoma City this week. The so-called "Hot Air Tour" is sponsored by an anti-tax group called Americans for Prosperity. Speakers gathering stood in front of a mock hot air balloon that was printed with this statement: "Global warming alarmism: lost jobs, higher taxes, less freedom."

No true consensus on global warming

Excerpt: I am indeed an environmental conservationist. My automobile (endorsed by the Sierra Club) and my home stand as my evidence/ […]As to the ice cores going back a million years, they may go back even further. However, it's important to note that the ice cores are not the vital factor, rather the records for measuring ice core lengths and the conclusions drawn on those samples are what is important, and these records are fairly recent. Various ice cores of varying depths have been drilled only since 1956, and the first ice core to reach bedrock was drilled in 1966. Many respected scientists around the globe claim that until 1985, published CO2 readings were published correctly, but after 1985 certain readings disappeared from publication. That's 23 years of censorship and skewed study.
